It wasn't because it's a bad book, it certainly isn't, but it's solid and it seemed a lot longer than what the page count tells us. Rothschild paints a rich and intimate tapestry of family drama, world-changing history, and one woman’s steadfast strength.įirst I want to say that it took an age for me to read this book.
